The anonymous out-of-state visitor won $1.593,457.33 from a wide-area progressive jackpot at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, the resort said in a news release on Monday, July 1. The slot player bet $10 on the one-dollar Wheel of Fortune slot machine.
The winner had only wagered $87 before hitting the massive prize, which will be paid in a 20-year annuity. The victorious bettor declined to be identified publicly.
The $1,593,457 prize is among the five largest slot machine jackpots since Hard Rock International took over the casino in June 2018.
Hard Rock Atlantic City has 2,425 machines, including a private high-end slot salon.
Slot maker IGT Jackpots said its Wheel of Fortune games are the nation's most popular machines.
